In February, the South Padre Island KOA sponsors a Guinness Book of World Records event . . . the World's Largest Surf Fishing Tournament! Hundreds of anglers "hit the beach" on South Padre Island for this event. It's the perfect opportunity for casual and avid anglers alike to participate in a fun, competitive setting and lend a hand to helping our coastal environment. The tournament doubles as a beach cleanup effort. In 2008, this event removed over 18,000 pounds of litter and debris from the beach.
